A snapshot of how it all began…

I wasn’t very active in my youth and didn’t have much exposure to fitness. I didn’t play sports, and structured exercise just wasn’t something I grew up around.

Into adulthood, I was influenced here and there by friends and went through phases of running, crazy cardio sessions at the gym, and plenty of home workout videos. Billy Blanks TaeBo — I’ll never forget you.

Once I became a mom, I was able to stay home and raise my kids. And while I feel very fortunate, those early years took a huge toll on me in all the ways. I slowly stopped taking care of myself and became burned out, anxious, and honestly, feeling quite unfulfilled. Running a household is important work — but there was something missing for me.

When I discovered strength training (thanks to Beachbody, I think!), my entire view of exercise changed. I felt Empowered. Confident. Driven. Plus, my body started to change in ways I had never seen before — and I wanted that feeling for all women.

And I wanted to make it as easy for them as possible.

RSF was born from wanting something more for myself, paired with a deep desire for women to feel healthy, strong, and capable.

I pushed aside a lot of doubt and insecurity and jumped in. I studied through a rigorous program and took the first massive exam of my life. I had no hands-on personal training experience and didn’t know a single thing about business — but I had passion and determination and nothing could hold me back.

Over the past six years, RSF has become more than I ever imagined. And while it’s still small and I consider it “part-time,” I’m incredibly humbled by what it’s grown into.

I’ve made mistakes along the way. I’ve dropped the ball. I’ve lost trust. I’ve frustrated people. I carry those moments with regret — but also with grace — because every one of them taught me how to be better.

But the women who show up day after day? They’ve made a home here. They’ve become friends. They come for the workout, but they help make this place what it is — watering thirsty plants, filling the candy bowl, decorating, and keeping the energy up. They’re comfortable enough to walk in and say, “I don’t really want to be here today.” But they keep showing up anyway.

And these are the reasons why:

“I couldn’t believe I lifted that at home.”  “I can now reach things overhead.”  “My cholesterol went down.”  “I don’t need meds anymore.”  “I fit into my old clothes.”  “I kept up with my friends on vacation.”  “I powered through yard work.”  “I’m stronger than my husband.” (perhaps my favorite)

I hear these things week after week. And while I don’t take credit for what they’ve done for themselves, I feel an incredible sense of purpose and joy every single time I hear it.

That’s why I’ve built this and that’s why I’m still here.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading. I tried to keep it as brief as possible. Trust me, this is the short version.

And if you’re anything like I was — worn down, disconnected, feeling fragile, uncomfortable in your skin, or frustrated for neglecting yourself for too long — come try a workout with us! See if you belong here. The hardest step is the first one — but you can do hard things.

Please reach out. I’m a real person who wants to make fitness simple for you.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t exercise to look “better” .  Like many women, I’ve spent most of my life trying to change the way my body...
